The 10 Most Beautiful Bays to Visit by Yacht in Bodrum

Luxury yacht anchored off Papuc Burnu in Bodrum, surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise waters, dramatic rocky coastline and the unspoiled beauty of the Aegean Sea.

Some of Bodrum's most breathtaking corners cannot be reached by road at all, and at Blu Yachting we consider that one of the great privileges of what we do. The peninsula and the neighbouring Gulf of Gökova hide dozens of turquoise coves, and the best bays we sail to in Bodrum are accessible only from the water. Here are the ten most beautiful, along with our tips on when to go and how to explore them by yacht or gulet with us.

Why do we think Bodrum's bays are best explored by boat?

The finest bays sit beneath pine-clad hills with no road access, so a yacht, gulet or day boat is the only way in. Travelling by sea with us means quieter swimming spots, crystal-clear water and the freedom to hop from cove to cove at your own pace, which is exactly the appeal of a Bodrum blue cruise and exactly what we offer.

What are the 10 best bays we sail to in Bodrum?

1. Orak Island (Orak Adası)

Often called the Turkish Maldives, Orak Island is reachable only by sea and it is a stop we include on almost every itinerary for good reason. Its vivid turquoise water, white sand and rich marine life make it the number-one bay on our Bodrum boat tours, and a firm favourite for snorkelling and diving.

2. Aquarium Bay (Akvaryum Koyu)

True to its name, Aquarium Bay has water so clear our guests can watch fish dart among the rocks directly from the deck. It is a beloved snorkelling stop and a staple of our blue cruise itineraries throughout the season.

3. Cennet Bay (Cennet Koyu)

Paradise Bay lives up to its name, and we love taking families here. Sheltered by rocks and greenery near Göltürkbükü, its calm, shallow water makes it an ideal lunch stop at anchor and a gentle, peaceful swim for all ages.

4. Karaada (Black Island)

The largest island in the bay is one we visit regularly. It is famed for mineral-rich thermal waters and a mud cave said to have therapeutic powers, and the surrounding coves, including Poyraz, offer stunning swimming that our guests always remember.

5. Çökertme Bay

A soulful stop in the Gulf of Gökova that we consider essential on any longer cruise. Çökertme is steeped in legend and folk song, long, pine-fringed and well sheltered, and it is a classic overnight anchorage for our gulets.

6. Kissebükü (Alakışla) Bay

Kissebükü (Alakışla) Bay in Bodrum with crystal-clear turquoise waters, ancient coastal ruins and a luxury yacht anchored in a peaceful secluded cove.

This deep, protected inlet is one of our personal favourites on the entire route. It doubles as an open-air museum, with Byzantine church ruins standing among olive trees right by the shore, combining genuine history with beautiful turquoise water in a single anchorage.

7. Kargı Bay

Known for its olive groves and unspoiled nature, Kargı Bay is a relaxed and scenic swim stop we enjoy building into our itineraries. Small family-run restaurants along the shore make it a lovely choice for a laid-back lunch ashore.

8. German Bay (Alman Koyu)

Reachable only by boat near Yalıçiftlik, German Bay earned its name when warships once sheltered here. Today we prize it for its seclusion and quiet, and it remains one of the most tranquil anchorages we know.

9. Pabuç Burnu

A favourite among our sailing guests and windsurfers, this breezy hidden cove offers clear water and a wilder, away-from-the-crowds atmosphere that is genuinely hard to find elsewhere along the coast.

10. Tuzla Bay

Tucked into the calm waters of Gökova, Tuzla is a tranquil, green-rimmed bay we regularly include on our multi-day cruises. It is perfect for disconnecting completely and enjoying a long, lazy swim at anchor.

When is the best time to visit Bodrum's bays with us?

Our season runs from May to October, when the sea is warm and at its calmest. July and August are the liveliest months, while late spring and early autumn offer the clearest water, gentler crowds and the most peaceful anchorages. We always recommend an early morning departure to enjoy even the most popular bays before the day boats arrive.

How do we take you to explore Bodrum's bays by yacht?

We offer three main ways to experience these bays with us. A shared day boat tour is our most accessible and affordable option, visiting several bays with swimming stops and lunch on board. A private boat tour or yacht charter lets you set your own route and pace entirely. For the full experience, our multi-day gulet cruises drift between coves and overnight anchorages across several days.

Most of our trips depart from Bodrum Marina or the cruise port near the castle. We recommend bringing swimwear, snorkelling gear, sun protection and water, and booking ahead in peak summer to secure your spot.
