Yalıkavak Guide: Marina, Beaches & Things to Do

Yalıkavak Marina in Bodrum featuring luxury superyachts, golden beaches, designer boutiques, waterfront restaurants and stunning Aegean coastal scenery.

Once a quiet fishing village, Yalıkavak is now one of Bodrum's most stylish destinations, and it is a place we at Blu Yachting know extremely well. Set on the breezy northwestern tip of the peninsula, Yalıkavak pairs a glamorous superyacht marina with sandy beaches, whitewashed streets and laid-back Aegean charm. In this guide we cover the marina, beaches, restaurants and things to do, plus how to get there from the airport.

What is Yalıkavak in Bodrum?

Yalıkavak is a chic resort town on the Bodrum Peninsula, and one of our favourite bases for charters on the northwestern coast. It is known for its world-class marina, clear waters and relaxed Aegean atmosphere, blending the glitz of designer shopping and high-end dining with the easy-going feel of a genuine seaside village. It draws everyone from yacht owners to families and couples, and we understand why.

Where is Yalıkavak?

Yalıkavak sits on the northwestern coast of the Bodrum Peninsula, roughly 18 to 20 km from Bodrum town centre. Its position catches refreshing breezes and spectacular sunsets, and it is well connected by road to the rest of the peninsula. Many of our guests choose it as their base for exactly these reasons.

What makes Yalıkavak Marina special?

Yalıkavak Marina in Bodrum featuring luxury superyachts, designer boutiques, fine dining restaurants and a vibrant waterfront promenade overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Yalıkavak Marina is the town's crown jewel, and a place we depart from regularly. It hosts some of the world's largest superyachts and is lined with international designer boutiques, jewellers, waterfront restaurants and chic cafés. Even if you are not shopping, we always recommend an evening stroll along the waterfront, a coffee with a sea view, or simply admiring the yachts before or after a day on the water with us.

What are the beaches in Yalıkavak like?

Yalıkavak's coastline is dotted with sandy stretches and small bays with calm, clear water that we know well from the water side. Many beaches are backed by beach clubs offering loungers, music and dining, while quieter coves nearby suit guests after a more peaceful swim. The gentle, shallow entries make several spots genuinely family-friendly, and we are happy to point you toward the right one for your group.

What are the best things to do in Yalıkavak?

Beyond the marina and beaches, Yalıkavak rewards exploring, and we always share our favourite spots with guests. The lively Thursday market, known as the socialite market, is famous across the peninsula for fashion, produce and unexpected finds. The town's old windmills make a scenic photo stop, and the waterfront comes alive at sunset when the sky over the Aegean turns golden. Day boat trips to surrounding bays are also easy to arrange directly through us.

Where do we recommend eating in Yalıkavak?

Elegant waterfront restaurant at Yalıkavak Marina with luxury yachts, gourmet Mediterranean cuisine and panoramic sunset views over the Aegean Sea.

Yalıkavak's restaurant scene is one of the best on the peninsula. Options range from elegant fine dining at the marina to traditional Turkish meyhanes and fresh seafood spots tucked into the village backstreets. Expect mezes, grilled fish, Aegean herbs and olive-oil dishes, often served right by the water. We point guests toward the marina for a glamorous dinner and the quieter streets for a more relaxed, local-favourite evening.

How do you get from Bodrum Airport to Yalıkavak?

Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) is around 50 to 65 km from Yalıkavak, a drive of roughly one hour depending on traffic. The easiest option is a private transfer or taxi door-to-door directly to your hotel or the marina, and we are happy to help arrange this for guests joining us in Yalıkavak. Alternatively, the Havaş shuttle runs from the airport to Bodrum's main bus station, from where you can continue by dolmuş or local minibus. For the return trip, we always advise allowing extra time in peak summer as the roads get busy.

When is the best time to visit Yalıkavak?

We recommend May to October, when the weather is warm and the marina, beaches and restaurants are in full swing. July and August are the busiest and most lively months, while late spring and early autumn offer pleasant temperatures, smaller crowds and better value across the board. These shoulder months are consistently our guests' favourites.

Who is Yalıkavak best for?

In our experience, Yalıkavak suits a wide range of guests. Couples love the romance and sunsets; families appreciate the calm, shallow beaches; and those after luxury shopping, fine dining and a glamorous marina scene find everything they need here. It is an ideal base if you want style and relaxation in one place, with easy access to our charters from the marina.
